The Race
On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Skokie's Backlot Dash 5K and Kids' Half Mile Color Fun Run will be held in Downtown Skokie (in and around the grounds of Skokie's Backlot Bash) and will include a half mile youth color run. The Kids' Half Mile Color Fun Run is an out and back course with white t-shirts provided. Runners will run through powdered colors thrown along the course.
Race day registration:
6:30 – 7:30 a.m.
Kids' Half Mile Color Fun Run
8 a.m.
5K race begins
8:30 a.m.
Awards ceremony will follow 5K

Age groups for races are as follows: Male and female – 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 and over.
Skokie’s Backlot Dash – Runner Packet Pick-Up:
- Thursday, August 24, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Weber Leisure Center, 9300 Weber Park Place
- Friday, August 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Weber Leisure Center, 9300 Weber Park Place
- Friday, August 25, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Information Booth at Skokie’s Backlot Bash, intersection of Floral and Oakton Streets
- Saturday Race Day, August 26, 6:30 to 8 a.m., inside the Backlot Bash grounds, at the beer tent, just west of the corner of Floral and Oakton Streets)
