

Recommended detours will be:
For eastbound traffic -Traffic driving eastbound on Oakton Street will be diverted at Gross Point Road, north onto Lincoln Avenue, then east/southbound onto Lincoln Avenue back to Oakton Street. Local residents will be able to access their neighborhood. The western end of the Oakton Road closure will physically begin at Laramie Street.
For westbound traffic - Traffic driving westbound on Oakton Street will be diverted at Lincoln Avenue, northwest to Gross Point Road, then southbound, back to Oakton Street. A notification sign will also be posted east of Skokie Boulevard so that drivers will have the option of taking Skokie Boulevard north or South, or proceeding to Lincoln Avenue.
Getting to the Backlot Bash:
From the south and Chicago -Take I-94 (Edens Expressway) to the Touhy east exit. Turn left on Cicero/Skokie Blvd.. Proceed seven blocks north to Lincoln Ave. Turn left (northwest) on Lincoln, cross Howard and find parking on the printable map above.
From the east and Evanston -Take Oakton Street across Skokie Blvd. Find parking on the printable map above.
From the north -Take I-94 (Edens Expressway) to the Dempster East exit. Proceed to second stop light (Gross Point Rd.), turn right. Go south seven blocks to Lincoln Ave., turn left. Take Lincoln Ave. about seven blocks southeast into downtown Skokie. Find parking on the printable map above.
From the west and Morton Grove -Take Oakton Street to Gross Point Rd., go north to Lincoln Avenue, then right (east/southbound) on Lincoln Avenue to downtown Skokie. Find parking on the printable map above.
Attention PACE Bus passengers:
Route 226 will operate on the following detour on Friday, August 24, 2007 ONLY beginning at 10 a.m.
Eastbound: Oakton - Gross Point Road - Lincoln - Oakton
Westbound: Oakton - Lincoln - Gross Point Road - Oakton

Bicycles
Parking for bikes is available throughout the Backlot grounds including at the Library and the Village Hall. We encourage riding your bike to relieve downtown congestion, for cleaner air, and for exercise!
