Application Information

Completed applications must be received by August 1, 2019. Selection notices and confirmations will be mailed by August 15, 2016. Receipt of application and fee does not confirm acceptance in event.

Participation Criteria

The Community Resources Fair is open to not for profit organizations and governmental agencies. Interested organizations must submit an application along with the required fee by the stated deadline. The selection committee reserves the right to reject any application which does not meet the not for profit criteria, conflicts with the Village of Skokie’s ordinances or are considered inappropriate for this event. The Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie (IMODS), the Skokie Park District, the Village of Skokie and the Skokie Chamber of Commerce will assume no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items belonging to any participants in this event.

Political and governmental agencies may not solicit or campaign outside of their assigned booth space or place any type of signage or flyers on the event grounds.

Booth Space

Booth space will be assigned by the event committee on a first-come, first-serve basis and are subject to the above stated conditions. Assigned of one (1) booth space per application fee is final. Booth space size will be 10’x10’ and will include one (1) 8 ft. table and two (2) chairs. Exhibitors and vendors with their own free-standing tents and displays must fit in the 10’x10’ booth space. No material, extension cords, display boards or electricity will be provided. Security will be provided throughout the event and overnight. However, exhibitors and vendors are fully responsible for their items throughout the event.

Fees/Payment Information

Skokie Chamber of Commerce Members: $250

Non-Skokie Chamber of Commerce: $350

Application fee must accompany completed application. Receipt and processing of application and payment does not confirm acceptance into the event.

Online orders will be followed by a request for fee payment.

Refund of all monies paid will be made to any applications not accepted. Selection notices and confirmations will be mailed to applicants by August 15, 2015

Rules/Regulations

Applications will not be reviewed or considered unless all required information is included with the application, including application fee. Application must be signed.

Assignment of booth space is final.

All fees submitted through the mail must be paid by check, money order, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. All checks and money orders should be made payable to Skokie’s Backlot Bash. No cash payments will be accepted through the mail.

All participants should arrive at least one (1) hour prior to the start of the event to set-up their booth space.

Driving or parking on the event grounds is strictly prohibited. Violators will be subject to ticket and towing. Exhibitors and vendors are responsible for transporting their items to the event and booth space.

Participants will be provided with one (1) 8 ft. table and two (2) chairs per booth space. There will not be any additional tables or chairs available during the event.

Participants are not permitted to dismantle their booth space until after 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 24.

The Skokie Backlot Bash committee reserves the right to reject any exhibitor’s items which in the committee’s opinion conflicts with the Village of Skokie’s ordnances and/or are considered inappropriate for the event.

The Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie (IMODS), the Skokie Park District, the Village of Skokie and the Skokie Chamber of Commerce will assume no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items belonging to applicants and participants.

Any participants who are in violation of any of these stated rules and regulations may be asked to leave the event grounds.

Parking

Participants are not allowed to drive or park on the event grounds. All vehicles must be parked in a legal parking space and/or location. Upon acceptance of the application, participants will be given the locations of official parking sites in the vicinity of the event.

Weather

As is the case with all outdoor events, inclement weather conditions may occur. Please prepare for the possibility of such weather conditions and take measures for yourself and your booth space.
